The Powergen Calendar is one of the most prestigious calendars for creative design and photography. The aim of such a commission is photographic excellence - the creation of a series of superb images which transcend the boundaries of audience appeal.

Godsmark Design & Advertising were asked by Powergen to provide a unique design for the calendar pages, together with concepts and art direction for the twelve images. The theme was Light & Energy, and their effects in the world. A series of imaginative visual concepts, using quotations, were submitted to Powergen, each one illustrating Light & Energy. The images you see here are based closely on the original concepts.

The internationally acclaimed photographer, John Claridge, was commissioned to bring his unique approach to a unique project. The final images resulted in the 'National Calendar Award' being presented for best calendar - an outstanding achievement for all concerned.
